Wow, this is some amazing stuff! Yesterday, IBM’s super deep thought computer named Watson appeared on Jeopardy and competed against two human opponents. This is absolutely fascinating stuff! The introduction into the computer itself and how it is set up (including it’s boundaries) is very cool. I really like the fact that it “knows [...]

I rarely write about technology because it’s all either derivative or temporal. Well, I suppose that all technology suffers these burdens, but this new Microsoft tablet computer, if it really works as advertised, looks like a game-changer.
I like technology, but I’m not an early adopter. I just like the idea of new technology. [...]

Happy Birthday to me.
Okay, so I’m about a month early, but I don’t want to forget. It’s been 10 years since I claimed a little bit of the web as my own. And yep, that’s the <blink> tag as an homage to oldskool home pages. No, it wasn’t called Ooine.com (that’s Oooo-ween) back [...]

This is the funniest video I have seen in quite a while. Keep watching, it only gets better. Those Japanese people can be completely over the top. They really go all out. Amazing.

Have you ever seen something on Google Video or YouTube and you wish you could keep it and not merely link back to it? Well now you can. Here’s a site that I just came across: KeepVid.com
All you need to do is supply the URL of the page that contains the video you [...]

What the heck is going on here?
I just checked Ooine’s stats and see that I am getting nearly 1000 unique visitors to the site every day. Don’t you people have anything better to do? During November 2005 I was getting about 80 unique visitors a day.
The thing is though, I would likely [...]

Check out this picture of a Battletech scenario. Somebody has created a nuclear-esque mushroom cloud with painted cotton or some such material. The result is eerily realistic on a small scale. As if the explosion is frozen in time.

Movies…. bah! Television is the new king over at Netflix for me. My latest pleasure has been Rome, the HBO series. Absolutely amazing and absorbing stuff. I wish it could go on and on. Watching each new episode is like returning to read a few more chapters of a really good book.
The best [...]

Absolutely brilliant. Best take on the Super Mario theme I’ve ever heard. Lots of people like to do their own version of what must be the most popular video game track of all time… but this is the best so far.
