I just finished reading this book to my son last night. It was an Illustrated Classic version, which is significantly abridged with illustrations on every page. I really enjoyed the experience, and Logan liked the story. I can’t wait to pick something else to read to him. I want to go with something that has a lot of interesting situations and adventures.
I’m not sure if it is Jules Verne or just the abridgement, but nothing really seemed to happen in “Jouney to The Center of The Earth”. Fully 90% of the book involved a general description of the party traveling through caves. There was really no pay off.
I think I’m going to try something like Robinson Crusoe next. I’m also going to try to find a version that is a little less abridged.
