Ugh. Who friggin’ comes up with the Guitar Hero playlists? I was immediately excited about Rock the 80s until I saw the playlist. You’d think that the list should really represent the 80s. Hardly.

I only know about 8 of those songs. And of those, I would only classify 4 of them as “good” songs. The rest are complete mysteries.
Damn Harmonix… so much potential WASTED! Where’s the Van Halen? Guns N Roses? Billy Idol? Queen? Bob Marley? BOSTON? Rush? Bruce Springsteen fer cryin out loud! Def Leppard! U2?

i agree.. i myself was only born in ‘86, but i do listen to 80’s music and i’ve nvr even heard of billy squier or white lion.. how bout cory heart or ac/dc? .. some ozzy or some dokken.. this list is CRAP!
you’ve never heard of white lion and you call yourself an 80’s fan? ny no means are they the one of the best bands of the 80’s but come on…are you serious?
I agree with you about the playlist. I was expecting a much better list of songs and when I read them, I was like, "umm, ok, I thought this was going
to be an 80’s Rock game" Seriously, what they should do is give the fans a chance to pick the songs if possible. I understand some songs, they probably wouldn’t get
the copyrights for, however give the fans a chance anyway to voice their opinion. Let the fans decide which songs go on the game, I know personally I could’ve thought
of a much better playlist than that. Like what about Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider, and Number of the Beast by Maiden, or what about Flirtin with Disaster by Molly Hatchet.
Seriously though, I think the fans would do a much better job picking the playlist. Also, it would give the fans more incentive to buy the game, knowing that they were involved
in choosing the playlist. How cool would that be! anyways, that’s what I think, give the fans a chance to voice their opinion rather than rely on the jackasses who are creating the
playlists now.

You guys need to expand your music knowledge. There are only 3 songs on here that until I hear them I won’ t know if I know them. These songs kick ass! The only thing that sucks is they don’t have any Nugent, more Ozzy, some whitesnake, bon jovi, and some more I can’t think of. They did a good job, and maybe with encouragement they will release an 80’s 2.
i bought the game and it stinks. there only about five songs you want to replay once youve beaten the game. No extra songs, or at least i havent figured out how yet. And worse of all you cant even buy the key-tar in unlockable guitars. I mean come on, key-tars scream 80s.
I went to Gamestop yesterday thinking I would buy the game. Holy crap! They want $50 for it! I’m pretty sure I remember reading that this title would be "value priced" because it’s not a new game, just essentially an add-on. There’s no way I’m paying $50 for this.
Well just got done playing, and have to agree with everyone the songs are crap, don’t think any of these guys were born in the 80,s guess I will go back to two and play it again and again and again glad i didn’t waste my money on buying guitar hero encore……thank you blockbuster for the e coupon…….
The playlist kicks ass. And to those of you who call yourself 80’s fans and don’t know who half of these bands are then you obviously don’t know a damn thing about that time period. The 80’s was mostly about "hair metal" bands not the heavy metal that you’re probably used too. Don’t get me wrong, I would make a few changes too but for the most part it is a pretty good list.
yah i agree with most of u the songs suck but alot of them i know but not alot and yah that would be good to let the player chosse the songs like guns and roses and ozzy more poisin def lapperd and metallica i mean come on people where the hell is metallica they had megadeth but no metallica hopefully when guitar hero 3 the legends it wont disapontt us rock on gh fans rock on

major disappointment. not worth the money. rent it, cause you will hate it after 1 day. only 30 playable songs! no outfits to unlock! most of the
songs no one has heard of. why only 30 songs. gh2 has 64 songs, and gh1 had 47. piss on this game
pretty bummed they didn’t include any "Smiths" songs. There is a light that never goes out wouldve been bad ass.
I think I’ll pass and download this instead.
ok. if anyone is wondering why they don’t play Metallica, AC-DC, and etc? Well its because the bands won’t let them. I feel like I am the #1 fan of Metallica, so i am just REALLY hoping they would do at least one song, like Master of Puppets, Orion, or etc.
wtf. i was only born in 92. but i no good 80s music. where is the metallica, dokken, ozzy, pantera, or zz top. im missing quite a few bands but you need actually need an 80s music fan to pick the songs.

ok, BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENT EVER: their has been three
games so far no NO ACDC!!!!!! i mean they are like the most hard rock, kick ass in your face band i know and they cant make it into one game.
some i love, like guns and roses sweet child, but the only ozzy song they can think of is war pigs??????WTF??????? i agree with john up there,

I agree with the disappointment. I was also upset about the playlist. I was born in 1970, so I am very familiar with the 80’s music. I was hoping there would be some cooler extra unlockable songs, but so far it does not look like there are any extra songs. Oh well. I enjoyed the game, but I don’t feel like it was worth $50 this time.
I recognize a number of songs, and enjoy probably… seven of the songs of that list. More to the point, I wasn’t even alive during the 80’s, but they’re still quite as much alive as ever. People, this is a WIDE verse across 80’s Rock music. I’ll agree, most of the songs I really would like to see off the list and for a new set. Bohemian Rhapsody from Queen is one off the top of my head. Seriously, this playlist… It needs more Rock.

Dude this game doesn’t have any good songs. The only quiet riot song i know is "come on feel the noise". That would’ve been a good song to have. What about ACDC? Come on they at least should’ve had their songs!!

ok people come on im only 18 i know i dont know many songs but still its not a bad list.
oh and they dont have matallica in any of the first 3 because they couldnt get the bands to agree.
the creator haung wanted def leppard metallica and alot of other good bands but could never get the copy rights.
oh and One by Metallica will be in GH3 more…personaly i want ride the lighting or master of puppets but we get what they can give us

Seriously, Ya’ll SUCK. Ya’ll don’t know good music if it tapped you on the shoulder. And the ones I didn’t know on this game, I turned out to really enjoy, like "18 and Life". I personally think ya’ll just haven’t played it yet.

ACDC is my favorite band but not so much Ratt come on i have never even heard of them real dissipointment
What the hell? They’ve got Quiet Riot, but instead of "Metal Health", why not "Cum on Feel the Noize"? Come on, There’s no Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy, Dokken, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Warrant, Kiss, Rush, Def Leppard. I could go on and on. Yes, they do have a few good songs, Like "18 and Life" and "I Wanna Rock". And "Nothing But a Good Time" by Poison is a big hit too.
Overall, there’s about 8-10 good songs. The rest of them, I doubt my friend who breathes 80’s could even recognize by name, and he’s a freak on music far more then I am.
What about Metallica, Megadeth, Ozzy, AC/DC, Pantera, Guns N’ Roses, and probably others that I dont feel like thinking about…bastards.
well anyone who looks at that song list and is confused about who those bands are obviously doesnt know ANYTHING about the 80s… sorry to those of you who only know the POP-ular songs…. But they tried to use definative bands of the 80s not ones that ubber gamers would recognize… im suprised you all know anything outside of soundtracks to nintendo games….
Okay, now I was born in 1982 and I don’t see any Fergie, Justin
Timberlake, Karsh Kale, or anything seriously heavy metal like
Luciana Souza. All of you up there that say they like AC/DC and all that, I was actually the one who showed those people the band and now because of me they are listening to it!

Los Angeles by X, wow, this was one of the absolute best bands ever. Billy Zoom is a phenomenal guitar hero. I’m going to buy this game just to play this song.
Most of the "posters" on this thread (it seems) are not of the 80’s
era. You should be ashamed of yourselves for dogging it. Had
you been alive you would know more about it. 80’s rock was not
ALL hair bands and Metal Mania. Yes, Metallica rocks, Yes
AC/DC rocks, Dokken, etc. The gamemakers should put out surveys
for those who wish to make (reasonable) song suggestions for future games.
I for one liked the game and am glad to have it. As for some of the
already suggested songs (good choices), Do you really think the game makers
did not think of these songs? Probably a copyright thing involved. Play the songs anyway.
They are more challenging when you don’t know the tune. Just have fun..PEACE to all..OUT
i agree with some of the other peoples comments its an awsome playlist but
i could think of about twenty other songs that should be on there and if you
dont know who billy squier is your not even a 80s fan so i would get this
game it seems awsome and it would have a higher sales price if the people
did get to cast there vots on what songs should be on there
by the way in 12 years old born in 1995 and all i listin to is 80s
i agree with this playlist entirly all of these band have rulled the 80s
and i would be dissipointed to not so another 80s edition

I totally agree. I felt the exact same way. I am a huge 80’s music fan and when I played the Encore game I was heavily bored. Most the songs I’ve never heard of and so many good bands were left out.
They did a terrible job. If I could have done it. I would have pleased the masses garunf888ingteeed!

I agree that some of the songs aren’t very good, but they can’t just put whatever they want into the game. They have to ask the band or group for permission, and it has to be a song that they can put into guitar hero form.
And besides…Bob Marley doesn’t even have good guitar in his music…
hahaha you guys call yourselves 80’s fans??? God I can not wait to get encore!!! The playlist rocks!!! There are at least a dozen songs I can not wait to get my hands on. I am just diappointed the games are going for so much. I am eyeing the pawn shops….lol
