I stopped using Magic Jack 1 day after I started, so I’m just posting this to help others.

    I ordered the Magic Jack and plugged it in. The very first day the calls were crystal clear. I was happy. Then day by day the device developed a hum and popping sounds during calls. So I ordered the Magic Jack Plus. Then I started to register it, and when I registered the device I did it on my home email account. The first device I registed it on my work email account. Magic Jack gave me a new phone number, saying there was no way they would be able to let me have my old MJ number on my new device. I paid for the number for 5 years, and I can’t use it. I can’t talk to anyone about it, and they say they will refer this to their concerned department who will look into it and make a decision. I am pissed.

      Hi, I’m in the same exact boat as you and I am not happy at all! Have you had any resolution? I’ve been waiting for an Engineer to contact via email in regards to the problem you have (and I have) for over 2 months!

    For anyone who is having problem like received and make call all I do is talk to a magicjack rep. at their website and tell them to give me the link where as I can upgrade the device. But still magicjack is a headache.

      Ray count me in. I purchased my magic jack plus in December of 2011. I have not been able to port my home phone after many tries. After 3 months and talks to the chat people at least a dozen times I give up. Now I can’t even get ahold of anyone. I would like to know how to get my money back or shut them doun so no one else has to get frawded by these crooks.

When i turn on my computer all is see is message says that ur upgrading.Its over a month now, i cant use my phone.Does ur UPGRADING takes a month to completel My magicjack number is 850-364 -8600.My bill is paid up for the next six years.I need to use my phone please, and the People from VONAGE are knocking on my door.     I have had the magic jack for a year now and only use it for the long distance. I was never able to use and land line phone for the service because it always had a really loud humming sound. I have never been able to use the service in it’s full capacity because the product is really not up to par, as advertised. I always use my cell phone to place the calls, but since last night the number you dial to call from your cell phone comes up as disconnected. I have been trying to contact support and have not been able to. I did the live chat thing and nobody got on, every phone number on the web for customer support comes up as temporarily disconnected.
    I found (561) 594-9925 online and that has been the only number to get me through to the company but now I have been on hold for 45 minutes and no one has come on the line. Since you have to load up the phone to make the long distance calls it is very frustrating when you just added money to the account and cannot get ahold of someone to either get me the access number to make the international call or to give me my money back.

    I have had problems with the MJ sence they ported my number cant make outgoing calls. then they disconnected my servive for a 96 cent bill they said was from porting my nuber. I paid $10 to have the numer ported. I think MJ is on its way to bankruptsy. Nothing for customer support. And seem they just dont care and want to keep a customer. All i hear is coplaints. I wanted to give them the best possible chance to correct the problem. But have had no MJ for a week now and it seems they are just not going to even try. Have heard nothing from the suposid Engeneers.Very Upset and dissatisfied customer. But not for long going to cancel.

    had mj for three years worked great. the last year has been nothing but crap. i guess once they got me for a 5 year plan they got their money and the hick with the rest. best product in America and you have no REAL person to talk to.
    Just been on live chat for an hour and got the run around. So, i gave it right back and the idiots still trying to talk to me. come on what happend to customer service, NOT GREED

    I have only had my magic jack plus for 5 days. From day 1 I have had nothing but problems. I have spent over 13 hours with the chat service only to receive no help form them. They are rude and useless. I called Billing and the girl on that line was rude and short telling me she only handle billing problems. After that I told her since they already had extracted their money from my account and since the product I have has a problem and since their chat help was and is no help why did I pay for something that is a problem and no help in sight. She ended the call….

    My MJs have worked great for 90% of the past three years; and when they wear out I just buy a new one. Chat Support is flat-out unforgivable, though; the techies are poorly trained and can do no more than ramble off lists of instructions depending on your problem; when you have to call back they robotically make you start all over again; but the “10% Advanced Group” are competent.

    Hey, let’s not forget here, gang — 20 or 30 bucks A YEAR!! That’s at least 300 times cheaper than any other service. Are you really all that surprised that you’re getting what you’re paying for? If you don’t have enough engenuity to take advantage of all the online aid that’s available, you would do well to back off MJ until its ingenius technology is perfected — but, of course, by then it will cost a lot more.

    I get cutoff when I make/receive a call.The longest on line without an interruption is about 30 seconds i called customercare and after about 30 seconds I was told by Ted that I was not in a live chat.This been going on for almost one year now.

    When I am talking on the Magic Jack telephone, the voice of the other person disappears. I hung up and call again.
    It works for a while and then the voice disappears again.
    This has been happening quite often.

  • I’ve had my MJ (gift) since 12/2011, Plugged the MJ into the computer to register it,no registeration processing screen. No reply to my question. Ican’t afford to pay #38.00.
