Microsoft’s Top Secret Courier Tablet

courierI rarely write about technology because it’s all either derivative or temporal.  Well, I suppose that all technology suffers these burdens, but this new Microsoft tablet computer, if it really works as advertised, looks like a game-changer.

I like technology, but I’m not an early adopter.  I just like the idea of new technology.  It seems like it’s making your life easier.  But sometimes that is just an illusion.  My technology litmus test (as should be everyones) is the “real world” test.  I have an app on my iPod Touch that allows me to make notes about this and that, but I almost never use it.  Why?  Because it’s easier to just write a note on a piece of paper and stick it in my pocket.  Or it’s easier to just send myself an email.  Does the technology actually, really, truly, make your life easier and more efficient?

Watch the demo below and ask yourself how you might accomplish the same things in the real world.  It truly feels like the Courier would make things easier for you.  There’s no way I’ll ever own one of these anytime soon, but in the demo at least, it appears to pass the real world test.
