Converted from BlogCFC to WordPress

Ooine.com has been converted from BlogCFC (ColdFusion) to WordPress (PHP). I would have loved to stay with BlogCFC because I am a professional ColdFusion developer, but WordPress is such a superior tool in every way… it’s not really a difficult decision. Sure, I’m giving up the chance to mess with the code and truly customize, but WordPress is more of an engine than a simple app. It allows you to tweak, change, and modify without even touching the code. And PHP isn’t all that difficult to understand and dig into if necessary, anyway.

I can’t tell you how impressed I am with WordPress at the moment. It literally has everything I need via it’s wonderful Plug-In engine. Just like the Apple app store, you can browse plug-ins from within the WordPress admin and install them with a click or two.

I was able to find a script that, after some code tweaking trial and error, was able to transfer all of my old BlogCFC posts over to WordPress. And now that they are in WordPress, they are easily exportable should I ever need to change platforms again.

With WordPress, I should be able to take this blog to a Ho Nubba Level.
