THE ONLY SUGGESTION IS. CLEAR EVERYTHING AS FAR AS MAGIC JACK. START AGAIN. IF YOU HAVE CONNECTED THE MAGICK JACK UNIT CORECTLY, YOU WILL SEE THE PROGRESS OF SUCH LOADING

Lou try turning off your fire wall, configure the permissions that allow you a 2 way connention and save it. reboot yoour computer

First you have the special shor wire I think is called
UBS? this goes to the computer one end the other to the magic jack, and then the wire long, to the telephone line..
If all this is correct, the only thing is that remember, at the end of the year when you started, you have to pay the
$19.00 or what ever it is, I think I pay $19.99 or 18.99..

I would suggest (this is just a guess) just get a new phone number and try to stay on top of the expiration date.

I purchased Magicjack Sat. It took till Sun nite to be up and running. It was off Mon am, all day, cant get a live person, Tues sat on chat w/ 3 diff agents for 5 hours! Finally I thought. Next morn, its out. I sit on chat 3 hours! I was cut off. I think on purpose. They had my cell # and never called me. Im taking it back to Radio Shack tomorrow, and I need to call a comp Geek MJ agents had me change settings and Iv lost Tigerjet. Anyone know how to get it back? After disabled, it dissappeared and we cant fingd it anywhere.

I have used magic jack for a year and a half now, and has
worked very well.
We do make quite a few calls, long distance, to california,
and maryland, and have not problem…
the only thing, and I am not sure of this, there are, at
least in my desk top computer, only two openings to receive
connections, i have one for the magick wire(and as we know
this is the special UBS cable I think this is the name)
that connects the magic jack to the computer and the other end goes to the telephone.

can not receive phone call, when you try an operation comes on a says the person at that extenstion is not available. I can dial out through. I am getting desperate now. My cell bill is going to be expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gail
Gail, sadly, magic jack Techs are about as usefull as used toilet paper. They know as much about it as you do. I first contacted Norton, watched them go through the process (even though they didn’t get it right) I was able to renstall everything and it works fine now. I left a very long message telling how to do this (but forgot to add you must have your sund set to handset (I haven’t figured out yet how to be able to play sound and talk on the phone at the same time but I know it is possible).
That’s telling them starh.

Can you use Magic Jack with Dial up to get on internet. I do not have wireless or broad band.
I don’t know Annie, but some stores offer a free trial for 1 month. I am guesing you can not use it with a dial out.
I paid my bill in April and seems like you want to renew my bill so I can’t use the phone.
Magic jack worked well for a while. Now i can’t call anyone in my own area code. Can’t get hold of any service tech to help.
I had the same problem a few days ago. I got a live agent who walked me through some steps on my computer then I went to a site and ran an upgrade. Fixed my problem.

I have never had any trouble with my magic jack from the first time I plug it in, been using it for two years now. I get my messages on e-mail.I have made phone calls every where in the US and no troubles………
I just got a replacement MJ after over two years of service. I had to keep restarting my old MJ to make or recieve calls. Now I can make calls and receive calls but my monitor will not go to sleep after 1 minute as scheduled. My monitor NEVER goes to sleeep with MJ installed. If I shut down MJ, my monitor goes to sleep as set. For over two years, my monitor went to sleep as scheduled, now I have to turn my monitor off manually to get it to shut down. Why is this ???
Talked with MJ this morning about this same problem. They did that on purpose. They don’t want your computer going into any power saving modes while running MJ. I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction with their choice and let them know that alot of people are angry about it and will be leaving them over it.

I have had MJ for a year. I renewed prior to the expiration. It was fine. The $ is gone from account. Now, it does not work and says it is expired. They have no record of it being renewed. I have gotten the run around all day with their nonesense online support. They have my $ and I have no service. Can anyone help me?

If you renewed it your bank statement will reflect it as being paid. I suggest that if you bank statement shows it being renewed, and it has not been you take the folowing steps:
Go to your bank and file a dispute.
Contact the ftc (fair trade commissioner) and file a complaint there as well.
My call last only 5 min. After that I can hear the other side, but they can not hear me. There is definitely something going on in the magic jack system.

Your firewall is blcoking them from hearing you, You need to add them and make it custom to allow a 2 way connection.

I have magic jack for almost 2 years, and stopped using it for almost ayear, but this august 2010, i reactivated it and paid the 1 yr fee. I was so disappointed by the outcome because, I thought i’ll save hundreds of dollars every year because i don’t need to pay a monthly bill for the telephone. It’s good to hear that you only pay $19.95/ yr for your telephone service, but i doesn’t give you a clear reception, it always breaking up, you and the other end can’t understand each other. This is exactly what happened to my subscription of FIVE YEARS.. A year ago I paid for the five year period and after a year I have this message everytime I plug in the magicjack saying my subscription expired. Tried to email find numbers for the customers service but nothing available. I have to re activate my paid account for another year.. This is really frustrating.. how many more people are being scammed with this kind of poor business practice? I am not done with Magic Jack.. I have to find a way to get back the money I paid for the 5 years service.. NOT FAIR BUSINESS!!!! JUST PAY YOUR YEARLY SERVICE ONLY!!
